The Nissan Micra is Nissan’s flagship super-mini.  Priced from £8,395 to £13,395, there are two petrol engine options of 1.2 litres or 1.4 litres, both of which are available as three door or five door hatchbacks.

The 1.2 litre will do 0 to 60 mph in 13.9 seconds, with a maximum speed of 104 mph and combined fuel consumption of 47.8 mpg.  A diesel version is also available, the 1.5-litre dCi, which will do 0 to 60 mph in 11.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 106 mph.  As would be expected, fuel consumption on the diesel model is more economical at 53.3 mpg for urban driving, 65.7 mpg for non urban and 60.1 mpg combined.

Six variations of trim are available.  The entry level Visia includes remote central locking with keyless entry, front and side airbags, CD stereo with MP3 capability, front electric windows, electronic brake-force distribution and anti lock brakes.  The Acenta also features air conditioning, electric door mirrors, under seat storage, multifunction glove box, six-speaker stereo, leather trimmed steering wheel and more.  The Tenka includes 16 inch alloy wheels, 6 CD auto-changer, sports seats, and climate control.  The Active Luxury lives up to its name with more luxurious trim features.

The new Nissan Micra has improved features over previous models, including thicker glass on the front doors, better door seals and further insulation developments which make for a quieter drive.  A car made for urban motoring; it is economical to run and has plenty of interior features which will appeal to many drivers.
